Andrew Kirell is a Brooklyn-based editor and reporter who covers media, politics, travel, and music. He was previously a senior editor at The Daily Beast for nine years, overseeing the breaking news and Cheat Sheet teams, which won a Digiday Award in 2018 for Best Email Newsletter, as well as the media and travel desks. Before that, he was editor-in-chief of Mediaite after stints in production at ABC News and Fox Business Network. You can follow him on Instagram and X.
Kirell is also a folk-rock singer-songwriter who has performed at live venues across the United States and Japan. He released his first album, Torch Songs, in 2023, which can be found on all streaming platforms.
