Hailey Bieber and Justin Bieber may not ever be dressed like they’re going to the same event, but after five years of marriage, they’re still happy to be going there together.

Justin posted a gushing anniversary message on his Instagram feed to mark the half-decade milestone with his wife, the daughter of actor Stephen Baldwin.

“To the most precious, my beloved. 5 years,” he wrote in the caption. “You have captivated my heart. I know from the depths of my soul down to my bones that this journey with you will only exceed our wildest expectations. So let’s keep dreaming big baby. Cheers to forever and ever. I love you with every fiber of my being. HAPPY 5TH YEAR ANNIVERSARY!!!”

You heard the man: even his bones are psyched to be married to Hailey. And you know how fickle bones can be.

The couple married in September 2018 in a secret New York City courthouse wedding, just months after their July 2018 engagement. Their history stretches back much longer: They originally met in 2009 at the Today show, where Justin was a guest and Hailey, then still Hailey Baldwin, was a mere fan. They dated in 2015 and 2016, then broke up to the point of Justin unfollowing Hailey on Instagram (gasp!), before rekindling their romance in 2018, shortly after Justin called it quits with longtime on-again, off-again girlfriend Selena Gomez for good.

Of course, Justin’s post is only celebrating the anniversary of the first time the two got married. (The news was hilariously confirmed by Hailey’s uncle, Alec Baldwin, commenting on a red carpet that “they went off and got married” and that he didn’t “know what the deal is.”) At the time of the courthouse ceremony, when Justin was 24 and Hailey was 21, an unnamed “insider” told Us Weekly that “they got legally married, but she believes marriage between God is the real thing.”

That “real thing,” then, was the September 2019 ceremony in Bluffton, South Carolina, which was on a resort that guests could only access via boat, in a very The Menu move. Hailey expressed her joy at the occasion by licking Justin on the face. As one does.

For her part, Hailey’s Insta-based anniversary tribute to her husband was both more brief and less Gollum-esque.

“5,” she wrote, with a series of emojis. “I love you.”

And, hey, in the photo she shared, they almost look like they're dressed for the same occasion. Unity, indeed.
